AANGCC - MS 150 Team

What Is Texas Bike MS 150?

The Texas Bike MS 150 is a two-day, 156-mile cycling event organized by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to raise funds for research and support for those affected by multiple sclerosis. As one of the Society’s flagship fundraisers, the ride brings together thousands of participants united by a shared goal — to move closer to a world free of MS.

But the Bike MS 150 isn’t about speed, medals, or breaking records. It’s about giving back. The 156-mile journey across Texas’s scenic back roads is a test of resilience, determination, and self-discovery. Crossing the finish line is more than an achievement — it’s an unforgettable moment of pride and purpose, a feeling that can only be understood by experiencing it yourself.

Key aspects of the Texas MS 150:

  • Fundraising:  The primary goal is to raise funds for the National MS Society, supporting research and programs for people with MS.
  • Event:  It's a two-day cycling event, typically starting in Houston and Austin, with cyclists riding towards College Station, Texas
  • Routes:  Multiple route options are available, catering to different fitness levels and preferences.
  • Community:  The ride fosters a strong sense of community among cyclists, volunteers, and those impacted by MS.

  • Support:  The ride provides extensive support, including rest stops, bike mechanics, medical personnel, and ride marshals.

  • Impact:  The Texas MS 150 is the largest fundraising event of its kind in North America, making it a significant effort in the fight against MS.

How To Join Our MS 150 Team

Joining our MS150 team is simple — all it takes is dedication and a genuine passion for making a difference. We’re looking for riders who share our commitment to the cause and are ready to go the distance for something bigger than themselves. This isn’t about personal glory or a self-gratifying challenge; it’s about service, impact, and purpose.

If you’re interested in joining the team, please review the requirements carefully before signing up. And remember: you can ride with All Ass No Gas Cycling Club without joining the MS150 team. The club and the MS150 team are two separate commitments.

MS Registration
There are limited spots on the team - so anyone interested in riding MUST register by the last Monday in November (Thanksgiving week).  Failure to meet the deadline will preclude you from joining the team.  When registering, be sure to register under the team name, All Ass No Gas Cycling Club.

Club Apparel Deadline

All club apparel payments must be submitted by December 5.

If you are already a club member and have a current kit, you may not need to purchase new apparel. However, for those ordering, this deadline ensures timely production and delivery.

If you are already a club member and have a current kit, you may not need to purchase new apparel. However, for those ordering, this deadline ensures timely production and delivery.

Please note: All club apparel is custom-made in Germany, and production timelines are strict. Missing this deadline may result in delayed delivery.

Kindly plan accordingly and do not miss this date.

Fundraising Requirement

Beginning in 2027, the individual fundraising minimum will increase from $1,000 to $1,500 — no exceptions.

All participants must meet the $1,500 requirement by March 30.

Reaching this goal is not just about meeting a number. It directly supports critical multiple sclerosis research and programs that impact real families. Additionally, when all riders meet the requirement on time, it allows our team captain/volunteer to collect all ride packets from the MS Society at once — simplifying logistics and ensuring a smooth, unified race-day experience for the

As a team, entire team, we ride together.  We fundraise together.  And we always finish together.  Let’s stay disciplined and execute.

Practice Ride Participation (Full MS - 161 Miles

Beginning in 2027, in order to maintain a strong, disciplined, and unified team, all riders will be required to participate in at least 75% of scheduled training rides in order to ride with the team.

Official MS 150 practice rides begin on the first Saturday of December each year.  Riders who fail to meet the 75% participation requirement may:

  • Be deemed ineligible to participate in the event with the team, or
  • Be assessed a $25 fine for each ride missed below the 75% threshold.

This standard is in place to protect team integrity, ensure rider safety, and uphold the commitment we make to one another. Group cohesion, endurance, and preparedness are built on consistent participation — not occasional appearances.  We are interested in community not the occasional appearance.

If you are unable to meet the minimum ride requirement, or are unwilling to accept the financial accountability tied to it, please do not sign up.

We are building a team of commitment, not convenience

TEAM AWARDS

Team awards are important because they reinforce the values, standards, and behaviors that define a group’s culture. Recognition signals what truly matters. When a team publicly honors effort, leadership, or exceptional performance, it sends a clear message: excellence is seen, appreciated, and worth striving for. This motivates individuals to go beyond minimum expectations and contribute at a higher level.

Awards also strengthen unity. Celebrating one member’s achievement reminds the entire group that success is shared. It builds pride, increases engagement, and deepens emotional investment in the mission. When people feel valued, they are more likely to stay committed, collaborate effectively, and inspire others.

In mission-driven teams, especially those focused on fundraising or service, awards can elevate standards and create positive momentum. They turn goals into stories and performance into legacy. Ultimately, team awards are not about ego — they are about reinforcing purpose, encouraging growth, and building a culture where excellence becomes the norm rather than the exception.

The Early Engine Award

Awarded to the first team member to fundraise $1,500.  The purpose here is to celebrate early momentum and sets the tone for our fundraising season.

THE IMPACT AWARD

The Impact Award is presented to a first-year member of All Ass No Gas Cycling Club who demonstrates extraordinary commitment to the mission by raising twice the minimum fundraising requirement or more.

This award recognizes more than dollars raised — it honors initiative, belief in the cause, and the courage to lead from day one.  Wile many riders are learning the culture in their first year, this member stepped forward and made an immediate impact, turning miles into measurable change for those we ride for.  This award represents:

  • Ownership of the mission
  • Immediate leadership
  • Financial impact beyond expectation
  • Commitment to something bigger than self

The Comeback Rider Award

Awarded to the rider who shows the greatest improvement on the bike from previous MS150 season to current MS150 season.

Most Support Teammate Award

This award isn't about speed.  It's about who embodies the team culture.  Metrics for this award are:

  • Teammate who checks on struggling riders
  • Teammate who is visible, consistent with verbal encouragement
  • Offers positive reinforcement during tough miles
  • Celebrates others’ milestones
  • Drops back to assist
  • Helps pace newer riders
  • Ensures group cohesion
  • Shows up to team gatherings
  • Participates in group discussions (in-person & in group chats)
  • Participate in group rides and social events

Elite Fundraiser

This award is presented to the team member who raises the highest total fundraising amount.  This honor represents more than a number — it reflects commitment to the mission, leadership through action, and the willingness to push beyond the minimum expectations.

Fundraising closes for award consideration at the official end of Day Two. Final totals will be verified and the award will be presented at team dinner on Sunday evening, following the completion of the ride.

Team Commitment Expectations

Joining the MS 150 team is more than signing up for a ride — it’s a meaningful commitment of time, energy, and dedication. Before you join, please make sure you’re ready to fully embrace the experience.

Our two-day journey is unforgettable, built on unity, encouragement, and shared moments — through the laughter, the challenges, and the triumphs. No one rides alone. With every pedal stroke, we move forward together.

To uphold that spirit, the following guidelines are mandatory for all team members:

Group Lodging – Day One

At the end of the first day’s ride, all team members are required to stay at the team’s designated lodging — whether it’s an Airbnb, hotel, or campground. Private accommodations, separate hotel rooms, or individual Airbnbs are not permitted.

Family and Friends Welcome

Family and friends are encouraged to cheer you on at the finish line and are welcome to join us for post-ride festivities and celebration.

No Overnight Guests:

Spouses, partners, or significant others may not stay overnight with the team unless they are registered participants in the MS 150, SAG, or active support.

Post-Ride Team Photo:

All riders are expected to remain with the team for our official on-stage photos and video immediately following the ride.

Post-Ride Team Dinner:

At the close of day two, all team members are required to join in celebrating our accomplishment at the official team dinner:  We celebrate at:

Fritella Italian Café

3901 South Texas Avenue,

Bryan, TX 77802

(979) 260-6666

Team unity is the heartbeat of our ride. If you’re ready to commit and embrace the full experience, we can’t wait to roll with you.
